Join us for a trip to Hikone Castle, one of Japan’s last twelve original-structure castles and its elegant Genkyuen Gardens. After touring the castle, gardens and museum with its collection of samurai arms and armor, we’ll have an Omi Beef lunch along the Yume Kyobashi Castle Road. We’ll also visit the Venice of Lake Biwa, a peaceful setting well off the tourist track lined with period merchant houses and quiet waters, recently used in the filming of the Rurouni Kenshin movie, and take a cablecar to a mountain shrine for a majestic view of the lake. Recommended for history buffs, garden-lovers, and photographers!
